Nationwide Certification Seminars
Attending an ISSA Certified Fitness Trainer seminar is like receiving a crash course on the real science of training and nutrition. ISSA seminar professors include Dr. Jack Barnathan, Lt. Col. JK Taylor, and John Schaeffer.

Their experience and expert knowledge will take your understanding of proper diet and strength training program design far beyond what the average personal trainer possesses. While each seminar will cover the same base of topics each professor brings his own unique experiences and knowledge with him, making no two ISSA seminars exactly the same.

Please contact ISSA's Continuing Education department to sign up at 800-892-4772.

Run Your Own Business

If you have NOT taken the necessary steps to properly insure your success as outlined in your course material and accompanying CFT Workbook and CFT Practice Examination, the SEMINAR in of itself will NOT be enough to ensure your success.

Areas of Concentration for Seminar Examination:

Section I Anatomy and Physiology 13%
Section II Kinesiology and Biomechanics 15%
Section III Health and Physical Fitness 18%
Section IV Program Development 17%
Section V Nutrition 20%
Section VI Injury and Disease 17%

Once you complete your Seminar Examination you will be notified within 3 weeks of your grade. You must earn a 75% or better in each of the two sections to earn your certification. Which means you must receive at least 150 points is Section I and at least 150 points in Section II to earn your certification.

If you do not receive a passing grade, you have the option of testing via the Online or Home Study examinations, free of charge. If you would like to attend and retest at another seminar, you will be charged an additional $149 fee. Because the questions are randomly generated, you will not see the same examination again.

CFT certified members of the ISSA are also welcome to attend the seminar as fulfillment of part of their continuing education requirement. The registration fee is $299 and upon successful completion of the seminar examination, students will receive a certificate of attendance worth 20 CEU's. The science of our field is rapidly expanding and you are sure to learn something new.

Cancellations: All seminars/professors are subject to changes and cancellations without prior notice. In order to enroll in a seminar please make sure to call ISSA by the seminar cutoff date. ISSA seminar seating is limited. ISSA is not responsible for seminars that become full before the scheduled cut off date or the cancellation or rescheduling of any given seminar. Once you are registered in a seminar you will be notified of the location and seminar specifics. There are penalties for late cancellation.
